Toned Legs...the look that never goes out of style!
Healthy, strong legs with good muscle definition are always a hot topic at Fitness USA, and for good reason. Toned and developed calves and hamstring muscles (along with the back of the thigh) give legs that full, athletic look that everyone wants. What's more, strengthened muscles in the leg are not only pleasing to the eye but are healthy to have.

Weak hamstrings are more prone to injury from misuse and overuse than conditioned hamstrings. Injuries to the knee or quadriceps are also more common among people with weak hamstrings.

It's important, both for appearance and health's sake to keep the calf muscles toned and developed. Varicose veins and circulatory problems in the legs are controlled or even avoided when the calves are properly conditioned since the calf muscles keep blood moving in the legs. Sluggish circulation results from lack of use and being sedentary.

A variety of exercises utilizing weights and other Fitness USA equipment will lead to stronger, healthier and more attractive legs. Your Fitness USA instructor will show you how the equipment works and which exercises are best for you to shape and build you muscles. The legs you're hoping for will be yours, with a little help from Fitness USA.

Washboard Abs
This is definitely the "Decade of Fabulous Abs," and Fitness USA members everywhere are focusing on exercise routines geared for firm, flat and sculpted midsections.

Both men and women desire the chiseled, washboard look of a toned tummy, today's ultimate symbol of fitness and health. And with the right exercise program and proper eating habits, great abdominals go from dream to reality.

The midsection is made up of three sets of muscles; the upper abdominals, the lower abdominals and the obliques, which run along the side. To get the coveted "six pack of abs" that everyone admires, you need a balanced fitness routine that targets each section. Of course, cardiovascular exercise and good nutrition complete the picture since you need to keep body fat at a very low level, too.

As an added bonus, keep in mind that a toned tummy does a fantastic job of improving posture and supporting the spine, leading to a stronger back. And less abdominal fat means lower incidences of heart disease, blood-fat abnormalities and certain cancers. You'll not only look better, you'll feel great, too.

Your fitness USA instructor will outline all you need to know with a tailored, personalized routine. Before too long, you'll be well on your way to that trimmed and toned look you've always wanted.
